And you can say that your life policy is to live without regret, and I've tried that, but it seems that all that does is identify that there are regrets that you're choosing to ignore...
The issue then becomes; once you've identified that you have this regret; once you've chosen to accept that fact that along the way you screwed up somewhere, what do you do with that information? I find myself in this conundrum now. I'm trying to decide if it's a missed chance I'll have to live with forever, if it's a regret I'll grow out of, or if it's something I have to try and fix. Those are really the only options, aren't there? There's no time travel, and no mulligans... there's only asking for forgiveness and/or trying again, and seeing where life leads you. Or there's the less likely; hoping to find yourself in the same circumstance again (which is as close to a realistic mulligan as we get).
I used to be a firm believer that there was no point in regret. I thought your life will be as your life will be. No sense in getting upset over something that obviously wasn't meant to happen. But now, I look back on some specific things, and I wonder if I made the wrong decision. Like I said, the big question is; what do you do with regret?
